I have two related questions.
1) What does selecting an event from the event drop-down menu in the donation page do, exactly?
I searched in the past posts and documentation, and didn't find an explanation of what happens when you link a donation page to an event other than that it becomes linked. What does that mean? Are there tags added to the donation?
2) What's the difference between a) setting up an event page with an fee and b) creating a donation page and linking it to an event (both through an automatic redirect from the event page and selecting an "event" option under page options in the donation pages menu)? Which do you use? I can't see any obvious drawbacks in using a paid event page instead of a linked donation page, but perhaps I'm missing something. I've just recently inherited our DIA setup so wanted to solicit the opinions of the more experienced - perhaps there is wisdom in our old set up (the linked donation pages). Thanks!
