Beth Dahlman
Faith in Public Life/Faithful America

Beth is the Online Organizer for Faith in Public Life/Faithful America, two related organizations who share a mission to take back "values" from the right, to strengthen the skills and infrastructure for the progressive faith movement and build bridges with people from across faiths and ideological lines to advance the common good. Beth is originally from Minnesota and in her off-hours she enjoys cooking and reality tv marathons (can't be a do-gooder all the time!).

Brett Schenker

Brett Schenker is the founder of 5B Consulting and has been involved with politics, technology, and databases since his first foray as an intern over a decade ago. Originally hailing from Buffalo, New York, he has served as a legislative staffer for the Erie County Legislature and eventually moved to Galesburg, Illinois where he helped coordinate state and local races in two counties as a field organizer. He is currently the Internet/Database Director for Virginians for Brian Moran as well as the Online Advocacy Manager for the Entertainment Consumers Association. Brett holds a degree in Political Science from the University at Buffalo. He is involved with the SUNY Washington Internship program, acting as a speaker and mentor to its students and has served on the Parature Inc. Technology Advisory Board.

He is currently working on building an international movement, focusing specifically on mobilizing and educating people in Africa and the Middle East. His new project, 350.org, will stitch together a creative, powerful and unstoppable global movement pushing for bold and comprehensive action on climate change on the international level.

Claudia Slate
The Peace Alliance

After 20 years doing litigation in Dallas, TX - I shucked it all in 1992 and moved to the prairies of the Rosebud Lakota (Sioux) reservation in South Dakota. I live on 10 acres in a still being constructed, passive solar straw-bale house (pay as you go self constructions, so slow going). Got into computers and databases to manage rooms full of documents in complex litigation and was able to transfer and expand those skills providing tech support for the local school system and tribal courts for 8 years. Then I got electricity and phone lines to my house in 2000 and started freelancing tech and web work so I could work from home. Peace, Justice, Universal Single Payer Healthcare and the Environment are my passions.

Valerie Schrock

She also has interest in: Cardboard Engineering and Puppet-Making, Multimedia Design, Animation, Torrents, General Geekdom, Escaping the Mundane, Playing Softball on the Mall, Learning How Things Are Made, Adrenaline, Playing the Trumpet Extremely Loudly, Lock-Picking, Internet Pirating, Grass-Roots Activism, Youth Engagement, Social Networking, Crowd-Sourcing, Downhill Skiing, and Family. Greg Varnum
National Youth Advocacy Coalition

Greg Varnum joined the National Youth Advocacy Coalition, a DC-based national LGBTQ youth social justice organization and happy Salsa user, as acting executive director in March 2008 and was appointed executive director in December 2008. As NYAC continues to evolve, Greg is working on strengthening the organization's infrastructure and strategic planning - including how to more effectively utilize technology and Web 2.0. Prior to joining NYAC, Greg served as director of youth initiatives and information technology at the Triangle Foundation, a LGBT civil rights, anti-violence and advocacy organization in Michigan. He has spent more than he would ever care to admit working on, sitting in front of and learning about all things related to computers. This has included owning various computer and web firms and holding various IT titles. Greg lives in Maryland with his partner, Bobby, their two dogs and their fish.

Anne Dougherty Online Communications Manager
Clean Water Action

Anne currently sails the ship at Clean Water Action as Online Communications Manager. She's working on her seventh year in web communications in the environmental non-profit arena and her eleventh year working in web communications in general. Before coming to the non-profit world Anne spent some crazy time in the dot com universe and, in fact, was present for much of the filming of Startup.com at [huge multinational web consulting firm whose name has been redacted because Anne has no desire to be sued]. Anne enjoys smart, creative, funny people and seeks them out where ever and whenever possible. In her spare time Anne spends as much time watching movies as possible and as much time outdoors as possible depending upon the temperature. She also subjects herself to the insanity that is National Novel Writing month in odd numbered years and finds the idea of writing about herself in the third person to be extraordinarily comical.
